TD Terminal — SSH terminal application

Version: 1.0
Effective date: May 10, 2026

§ 1. Data Controller

The controller of personal data processed in connection with the TD Terminal application and the tdterminal.eu website is Tomasz Durałek, e-mail: tomek@tdterminal.eu.

The Controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer. All privacy and personal data requests should be sent directly to the Controller.

§ 2. Nature of the application

TD Terminal runs locally on the user's device and does not have its own backend for storing connection profiles, passwords, private keys, or TOTP secrets.

The application does not send saved profiles or secrets to the Controller's servers.

§ 3. Data stored locally

The application may store the following data locally on the user's device:

  1. SSH connection profiles, including name, host, port, login, and authentication type;
  2. authentication data, including passwords, private keys, passphrases, and TOTP secrets;
  3. application settings, such as language, theme, and interface preferences;
  4. licensing data needed to activate, validate, or deactivate a license;
  5. local technical logs, if they are created by the application or system environment.

§ 4. Purposes and legal bases

Data is processed to operate the application, save configuration, make SSH/SFTP connections, handle licensing, check for updates, maintain security, and establish or defend legal claims.

The legal bases are Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where processing is necessary to perform a contract, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR where processing follows from the legitimate interests of the Controller or the user, and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR for optional analytics cookies on the website.

§ 5. Security of local data

The sensitive part of the application data is stored locally in an encrypted vault. The encryption key is derived from the user's password or PIN.

Access to application files also depends on the security of the user's operating system account and operating system.

§ 6. When data leaves the user's device

Data may leave the user's device only to the extent needed for features selected by the user:

  1. during an SSH/SFTP connection, login data is used to authenticate with the server selected by the user;
  2. when checking for updates, the application may connect to GitHub;
  3. when activating, validating, or deactivating a license, the application communicates with Lemon Squeezy;
  4. when opening external links, technical connection data is processed by the operator of the visited website.

§ 7. Recipients of data

Recipients of data may include the SSH/SFTP server selected by the user, GitHub, Lemon Squeezy, operating system providers, and internet service providers needed to operate tdterminal.eu.

The Controller does not sell user data and does not share SSH profiles, passwords, private keys, or TOTP secrets with third parties for marketing purposes.

§ 8. Transfers outside the EEA

GitHub, Lemon Squeezy, or other technical service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where such transfer occurs, it is based on mechanisms provided in Chapter V GDPR.

§ 9. Retention and deletion

Local data is stored for as long as the user uses the application or until the user deletes it.

After uninstalling the application, some user files, such as exports, backups, or the application data directory, may need to be removed manually.

§ 10. User rights

The user has the right to access data, rectify data, erase data, restrict processing, data portability, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the President of the Polish Personal Data Protection Office.

Because the application is local-first, most operations on data are performed by the user directly in the application or in local files. Requests concerning user rights may be sent to tomek@tdterminal.eu.

§ 11. Website cookies

The tdterminal.eu website uses necessary cookies required for the site to work and to remember the cookie consent decision. Analytics cookies, including Google Analytics 4, are enabled only after consent.

Consent can be withdrawn or changed at any time through the "Cookies" link in the website footer.

§ 12. Changes and contact

The Controller may update this policy. The new version will be published on tdterminal.eu with its effective date.

Privacy and personal data contact: tomek@tdterminal.eu.
